Windows for the GospelPosted | 0 comments
“We want to give our children a place to learn but this is like they are animals in a barn.”
Those were the words of Pastor Jonatan Ramos as he showed me the school in the village of Las Brisas which was nothing more than a dirt floor, rough cut trees, sticks, and tin. With only one door and no windows, it was very dark and hot inside.
Village people from Las Brisas had built the school for almost 50 children, using all the resources they had to build the best school possible. Can you imagine what it would be like to study or send your childto a school like this?
Our desire is to empower local pastors like Pastor Jonatan, thus helping them reach their villages with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. So when he asked me if I knew of a way to put windows in the school to provide ventilation and light, i knew that installing windows in the village school would not only help the children it would also strengthen Pastor Jonatan’s ministry by showing the community he cares about them.
Several month ago we partnered with Pastor Jonatan and his church members by giving them resources to plant several acres of corn. They have already planted the corn. They are expecting their first harvest in about a month. The funds generated from selling the corn will go toward three things.
• Build their church – purchase construction supplies
• Create sustainable income – Reinvest in the next crop in order to continue generating income to build their church
• Empower others – They will set aside the initial startup cost that was given to them for the project and use it to empower others to start similar projects.
A special thank you goes out to all of you that support this ministry. As you partner with us you allow us to empower people like Pastor Jonatan so that villages, families and individuals are transformed by the power of the Gospel.
